What it is allowed to touch
When a practice connects Smokeball, AI Legal Toolbox asks only for the access it needs to read matters and contacts, file documents and record time. It does not ask for access to your trust account or bank accounts. The connection is made by an authorised person at the practice and can be removed from Smokeball at any time.

Questions practitioners ask
Does it replace Smokeball?
No. Smokeball stays your practice management system and the record of the matter. AI Legal Toolbox works in Outlook and writes into Smokeball when you confirm.
Can it access our trust account?
No. It does not request access to trust or bank accounts.
What happens if an email does not belong to any matter?
Nova tells you no matter fits rather than filing it somewhere plausible. You can pick the matter yourself or leave it unfiled.
Does it work if we do not use Smokeball?
Yes. Triage, drafting, document review and the rest of the toolbox work with the mailbox alone. You lose filing and time recording against matters.
Can it record time without me knowing?
No. Every time entry is shown to you first and only created when you confirm.
